Chapter 8 Academy

“Haih, what are you doing dear?”

“Well, I want our son to be a knight. That is the same occupation as me. Although Machina not really good at handling the sword right now, he already has interest in sword at such young age. If Machina give his attention more to sword training and further his training, I am sure that our son will become a knight stronger than me.”

While letting out a sigh Liliana ask on what Paulo want to do and then Paulo said that he want Machina to be a knight. Moreover, Paulo seem highly confident that Machina will be able to achieve it.

From this Liliana feel that Paulo should think more on what Machina can do. Not only they need to know what Machina can do, they should also know the limit of what Machina be able to do.

“Dear, rather than becoming an ordinary knight should Machina strives to be able to become a knight that able to use magic along with it. I am sure that kind of thing will rise Machina worth by a lot is not dear! We can let Machina learn magic in the morning and train in sword at evening”

Giving a sound reasoning to her husband, Liliana use the act of persuasion so that Machina will become stronger than her husband. This will allow Machina to have higher chance to be employed as the personal guard of noble.

This will also allow their family name can be rise higher than the current.

“A knight that can use magic is it.  The only knight that can really use magic in combat in our kingdom is really scarce. Furthermore the position of this knight is really high in our kingdom”

Contemplating on what to do Paulo think deeply about the decision that he should make. When he decide on the decision that he should make for his son, the look of his face is different from the normal time because his face right beaming with seriousness. He  do not want that the decision he take will rob his future.

“Machina, dad will agree for you to learn magic but dad want you to promise that you will not put aside sword training when you learn magic. Will you promise?”

“Hmn… Okay, I promise to also focus in training my swordsmanship when I learn magic”

Hearing the reply from his son, Paulo heart feel a little cheerful with that. Even though this promise will wither with time he still hope that his son can become the most powerful knight because he believe in his son potential and abilities.

On that night the discussion on what will happen after this day has been concluded. Machina will officially learn magic so he can learn a more proper ways in learning magic.

Although Liliana can teach magic to Machina, she think back that Machina need a proper instructor to teach magic to him.

She do not want to hamper her son potential.

Begin from the bottom and work it up the ladder.  Liliana can teach Machina magic but she decide not to do it.

From what Machina know when he was told by Liliana, it seem that Liliana used magic and conjure it into reality by how she feel to do it, so, she said that she not really good in teaching other people because she conjure the magic by using her feeling.

So, after that night discussion the day after that she use the carrier pigeon to send a letter to some place in the kingdom.

According to Liliana, she ask her acquaintance to recommend someone to teach Machina. Liliana only give a clue to Machina that the person of her acquaintance is someone from one of the academy in the kingdom.

Although Machina do not know who the person that her mother said was but he know that in this kingdom there is four academy in this kingdom.

Each of the academy has its own specialty that they major in. This is because of the majority of the people that enter the academy is difference.

There is an academy that most of them contain the son and daughter of noble and merchant. The other academy contain difference race and the other is the knight academy for a person to be train as knight.

Even though the academy had its own specialty but all of them still use the same curriculum for most of them with of course this is by adding the tiny difference that became the specialty of the academy.

The academy that most of the noble children attend is the most expensive tuition of them all. This academy is call oblige academy. Rumor said that it came from the name noblesse oblige.

The academy for most of the people that want to become a knight is the second expensive tuition. Although it second expensive tuition among the academy, the difference on the amount of the tuition among the two academy is really large. It like the difference between the night and day.

The good thing is that the academy for the knight became one of the young people dream. This came from the notion is that the person who attend this academy will work as the noble guard.

By joining this academy the person that had the most performance of them all can work with the royalties. For that this academy is called Knighthood academy.

The third academy is the most popular academy among all of them. This is because of that academy is the only academy that have a large number of difference race join it.

It can be said that the third academy is more popular among the other race. Not only that the lecturer there is more advance and stronger than the other academy whether it is in magic or other type of combat. This can be seen from the strongest magician in this kingdom was produce from this academy.

The third academy had attracted a lot of strong people to work there because of the treatment the academy give and there is less to no type of discrimination in that academy.

The third academy is not like the other academy, it strength as an academy can said that it rival even a country. Thus, not many kingdom try to provoke this academy.

The academy that difference than the other academy because this academy was made to train adventure. Making stronger adventure than the previous one. Then this academy had been called Vanguard academy.

The fourth academy in the kingdom and also the last academy in the ranking Marcy academy. It is an academy that focus more on the business management. Many merchant will send their children to this academy to learn on the rope to handle the business.

The people that graduate from this academy usually become a businessman and their connection is really strong. Marcy academy allow the student from different business to interact and this allow them built a ties between each other.

Most poor people usually will enter this academy to learn. All of this because of the action that Marcy academy take. The poor people do not need to pay for the academy tuition but when the academy need to do an event or business transaction they will become the personal escort.

The person that enter Marcy academy without paying the tuition will be learning on the art of the sword to protect their people. It can be said that this academy had its own bodyguard.

Although the existence of the academy is small in number in this kingdom, each of them had their own strength that cannot be look down upon.

Machina know that from his mom that in the younger day she became an adventure. Even though he do not know which academy his mom acquaintance was from but he thought that the acquaintance that his mom talked about from vanguard academy.

Even if he thought like that all of this only a guess that he made himself to satisfy his curiosity. Without doing something that making a guess on the origin of his mom acquaintance he cannot calm down at all.

At night Machina having trouble sleeping. Unlike the other day before they celebrate Machina birthday, strangely after that day he has trouble sleeping in.

Machina tried sleeping by closing his eyes for a long time, even this action not bore fruit. He still unable to sleep until it really late.

When going to sleep Machina lay on the bed for a long time before he is able to sleep. This kind of thing happen a lot of time. Sometime he can only fall asleep when it really too late causing when he wake up the feeling of lethargic hit him hard.

This make most of the routine that Machina do every single day to fall out of place. The first time it only slow him down in finishing the task that he want to do. As the time pass it has cause him skip some of the task that he want to make.’

The reason that Machina do not do some of the task come from the feeling of tiredness. It all comes down to Machina having trouble to sleep at night. All of this happen in the first week after it was decide that he can learn magic and her mom, Liliana, will ask her acquaintance help to teach Machina in magic.

Machina became too excited to learn and delve in magic. Although this lead to many unwanted event like trouble sleeping, slow in doing the task and other that can be related to it. He manage to calm down after the first week.

Furthermore right at the time he manage to balance the task that Machina assign to himself for training, he added more training. Even though he add more training it do not reach the realm of overworking.

The limit of himself already increase than before so he added more training to consolidated himself. This is so that Machina can become stronger than he is right now.

Right now training in the sword not only follow a set of movement, it also involve the more that he tried himself. Machina wield the training sword sometime randomly and sometime using the set of movement. This is so that he can find an efficient move that he can use to defeat his opponent.

Beside than just using the raw power to defeat an opponent, Machina also tried using technique to defeat an opponent by using only a bare minimum of energy spend.

Moreover Machina not just training in the art of the sword he also learn in the art of close quarter combat. The close quarter combat of this world by hand combat is really not popular.

This came from the fact that the person that using this technique cannot defeat a monster. It need to know that in this world most of the fighting is the fight with the monster so the style of fighting that cannot kill an opponent in the fastest way is not really popular.

From the style of this world, the hand-to-hand combat is not something that someone delve into. For this Machina tried to remember on what he really on the web before this life about hand-to-hand combat and he tried to simulate it in this world. Although the combat by hand-to-hand that he copies is not really good but from this data that he had he change the movement until he can do it efficiently and become as strong or close to the original.

For this he repeat the same movement over and over with changing a little to find the best step until he think the movement he is good for combat.

This time Machina only strives for it can be good to use in combat. In the future he want to improve more on the technique he learn.

With that kind of goal Machina work to learn and training in the thing that he can do. In this kind of age where he had a lot of free time with him being from the world where the city never sleep, it added the time that he has free a lot more.

For this make a lot of time to make a training menu. Although the thing that Machina learn is a lot and slow but he feel that the improvement is still there even if it small.

This came from the use of magic. The magic in this from Machina understanding is that all the thing in this world had magic in it. Even if it came from non-living object, it still had magic even if it small.

The amount of magic contain in every single thing this is different. It is the same as human, this is because the amount of mana human had is different and most of them had low amount of mana.

The amount of mana that a human body can house can be increase with training. As one train in magic it said that the mana will increase slightly. The more they train the more the amount of mana their body can use.

Not only that, when train from the age of young the amount of mana increasing is like the distance to the sky. It means that the amount of mana the body house increase in an increadible amount.

The increase was feel by Machina himself because he know one more thing by training magic at young age. It is that the amount of mana increase reduce even if it only slightly as he grow older.

When he realize the reducing of the amount of mana increase in the body as aging. On that day he go to get Airi and Asuka to teach them magic on the ground that Machina ask them to play together.

Different from Machina that train every single in magic for one part of it, Airi and Asuka do not train magic every single day. For the hope that he can increase the mana in Airi and Asuka, Machina will always go to find both of them every day to make the both of them used magic until they were tired.

With that Machina hope that his sister, Asuka and his childhood friend, Airi can protect themselves when he is not here. He also hope that when he move adventure his sister had the strength to change her fate rather than accept it. For Airi, he just hope that Airi can help in protecting his family.

The training that is use for Airi and Asuka is the same as the one Machina done to train himself. Although the training had been reduce a lot than the one that Machina done.

Unlike Machina that have memories from the past and a reincarnated person. For Airi and also Asuka only a normal kid without any memories of the past so the training for increasing mana in both of the girls has been reduced for this reason.

Machina not only try to train Airi and Asuka in magic, it also include in developing their character so that they can prevent themselves from corruption and also can also think on how to handle their own safety.

In the heart of Machina, he think that the action taken by him right now really unlike the past him. He feel that this is the feeling of a brother to that of a little sister. They do not want their sister to meet hardship or any misfortune.

Every time he see Asuka, the only feeling that he had is the feeling of do not want his sister or more like imouto to fall when facing this world. This is not the modern country that use democracy system but the system of monarchy. He want her to be able to decide her own future and have enough abilities to resist when there an obstacle in her life.

This system of this world can bite them any time as long as they have a bad luck that the fang had been turn to them. For this he must do everything that he might be able to do to prepare counter measure and prevent this.

Although he can became strong when he train to the death but that only strengthen him not their surrounding people. Even though right now he is here in the future he do not what will happen. There might be a time that he is not by their side when they meet trouble.

The teacher that will teach Machina in magic, in Machina heart he want to ask his or her to teach his sister. He will go as far as to do dogeza if it need to be.

Using this set of thinking that unlike the look of the child that he give off, he begin to set a groundwork so that he can feel his mind at ease.
