Chapter 14 Wick

Moving among
the tree a shadow was seen moving cautiously minding the surrounding. This
shadow right now using a dimmed light to move around. This light came from the
candle that the shadow is holding.
Zooming to
the candle that showing the dimmed light from it flame the person figure
illuminated from this light. The cloths that person wear can be seen that it
consist of jacket with a t-shirt underneath and track pant. This person is
Nasrul.
Right now he
just moving about randomly in the area because he feel bored waiting for the
change in time.
After he move
to find the clue and visit every possible place he manage to found all of it.
So right now he do not have anything to do. He moving about randomly while
being cautiously to all the sound that reach him and if possible including the
sound that do not reach him. Although he can just use his ear to find anything
that show the sign when the ghost of children attack he never think to himself
that using one ear was enough to survive. For survival oneself must use every
means that available to him. So every now and the he used his eye sight to see
the distance if possible the clothing of the children use to wear, even though
he cannot see far but the distance that he can see couple with the color of the
cloth might give him an advantage in the starting distance.
Other means
that he use is using his nose to smell the surrounding. Although it not
reliable than the other method it still one of the tool that can made a
difference in the live and death situation.
Walking along
the grass that spread in this forest with half leisure and half stiff he look
around the area. Then he stop suddenly feeling that something is in front of
him but he do not saw anything in front or the area that can be called
dangerous.
Even though
one might move to other place normally it somewhat different for him cause what
he feel was that something in front of him not the feeling of danger at the
front. So he lift the right leg and step forward moving to the direction that
he feel right now.
Just a little
walk then he saw a hand moving left and right. Looking at that scene Nasrul
speed up and rush to that hand. He do not know why or the reason for his action
the only thing that he think was that at the time was someone be throw in that
well and they cannot get out. Leaving it alone without helping the person that
showing a sign for help do not sit right with him. So as he run toward the well
he think the reason that he run to that place only to help fellow survival.
Reaching the
hand that stretching outside and hold the palm using his right hand as the
right hand of his stronger than the left and more maneuverable.
“Do not worry
I am here. Hold up for a little while I will removed this lid”
Saying
something like that to give a last boost to that person while with the
remaining hand he used it to grab the lid so that he lift it up. He tried to
lift it but unable to.
“This thing heavy. Damn, how did a piece of wood can be this heavy? Argh….”
Trying to
lift up the lid that close the well without any successful result the first
time then he put more energy through the muscle in his arm to lift the lid.
After sometime forcing himself while holding that person arm he still fail to
open the lid of the well.
[Why it this
hard to lift? Is there something wrong with it? Did the lid was nail to the
well but I cannot anything that resemble that this lid was nail to the surface
of the well]
Thinking as
fast as he can to find the way to open the lid the energy in his body that
support himself began to dwindle with time. The arm that he took hold off begin
to feel more heavy. As the feeling of that person arm began to slip from his
hand, Nasrul tighten the grip and use more energy.
Even though
the he tried for a long time alas he was still unable to lift the lid. What making
it worst was that his grip to that person arm became loose little by little over
time. He also feel that the weight of this person increase making him unable to
hold. As time went on and with both his hand with one held to the person arm
and the other at the lid the sweat that was form from his body increase. This
sweat already cover his whole body making the cloth that he wear right now wet
like it has been drenched in water.
“Ah….”
No matter
what he do, it cannot be said that he can continue in that condition. Then the
sweat in his hand acted like a grease. It make the friction of his hand that
person to be reduce and then it began slipping. His finger that grip the person
hand separated from it and then that person began to fall.
As he saw
that the grip of his right hand separate from that person arm the left hand of
his begin to move. The left hand lunge straight to that person arm like a claw
straight as fast as he can. It then move through that person hand afterimage.
“No!!”
A shout was
cry out by Nasrul and then he hurried to the place that he drop the candle grab
it and then move back to the well. Through the opening of the lid that person
hand came out before he shine the candle through it. The light shine and move
through the darkness that cover the inside of well. He look through it from the
top of the well and what in there astonished him.
There was
nothing. Nothing at the bottom of the well. Not even any weed. The only thing
that he can see is that at the bottom there only sand.
“What this? There
nothing in here. Where the hell it goes?”
[There no one
in here. What happen just now? Is there some quick sand in this well. There no
way there quick sand here. It too fast even if it quick sand and to fall from
this two meter to be buried at that speed I did not think so]
Looking
closely and when his eyes finished adjusting to the darkness that the light of
the candle produced he notice something.
[That sand
look weird. Why is the color of that sand black? Did something happen? Or does
it form from the light of the candle not shine through enough making it produce
the illusion that it was a black. Hmn..???]
Making the
expression of curiosity then change to slightly fear and then question. He then
drop it. Even if he think about all of this it will not get him anywhere right
now.
[I need to
rest first. The sweat already overflowing from my body. It good that the wind
at this time pick up. It will increase the drying faster]
Thinking to
rest and dry the cloth he wear he sit beside on the nearby tree to rest
himself. Even though right now resting is more of priority but he did not let
his guard down.
Clenching the
candle in his hand he think about the people that he meet today and the event
that happen after they wake up to sort out what happen today.
From the
people of unknown face they quickly found the clue about this place from the
watch. Like the watch said this place was the world of a game called Wick. Although
most of them want to denied it but they unable to when the ghost of the children
ran and they saw it with their own eye.
To make sure
that they has objective and not moving randomly that might be more dangerous
and also to prevent mental breakdown. He propose to find the clue that appear
in the game of Wick. What astonished them more was that the moment the clue was
touched that person will heard the event that happen before like in the game of
Wick when protagonist hold the clue.
Then all of
them make a group of five people in the group making it four group in total. This
came from all 20 people that enter this game like world.
He meet the
ghost and got chased by it. Meet the other ghost was save only a hair breath by
the time ending. After waking up got separated.
Then he just
move alone for fear he might be attack by other when they saw him moving alone
and not get attack. There a few times that he got chased but he manage to run
and maybe they lose interest in him and began to found other prey. Not only
that there also that strange light from before with a loud sound. It almost the
same as when the lightning strike the ground.
Then here
right now helping a people that disappear suddenly.
Sorting his
head out, Nasrul begin to feel more refreshed than before. There was one thing
that he did not want to thing at that time and it was done almost unconsciously.
What is the thing that he tried to help? Why is there no sound produced when it
fall?
Dismiss all
this to protect his own heart that beginning to be eat by fear. This fear
attract some other thing close to him.
At the top of
the tree stand there a lone shadow can be seen. The face of that shadow cannot
be seen because of the darkness. The only thing that shine in this darkness was
the pair of eye that seem to be glowing in red light.
This unknown
shadow has the same height as Benny but he was skinny than Benny.
Close to the
proximity of Nasrul more shadow can be seem to be gathered. Nasrul at that time
look to the sky unaware of everything that happen in the shadow.
